Serve as PIs, national coordinator and steering committee members of over 100 clinical trials in diabetes and cardio-renal complications since 1995 with approval for indications, examples include: 

  • RENAAL, ACE, EXSCEL, TECOS, EASIE, EXSCEL, FIDELIO, ARISE using renin angiotensin system blockers, alpha glucosidase inhibitors, lipase inhibitors, insulin, glucagon like peptide 1, PPAR dual agonists, Dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitor, glucokinase activator, non-steroidal mineralocorticoid antagonist, aldose reductase inhibitors
  • Continuous Glucose Monitoring System, digital platform, diagnostics and other devices
  • Early phase and mechanistic studies including glucose and insulin clamp studies
  • Real-world evidence using registers with embedded register-based randomized clinical trials
  • Modernization of Chinese Medicine using western methodologies
