Dr Chan’s research focuses on various pleural diseases, chest infections and airway diseases, with a special interest in the phenotyping, diagnosis, and treatment of pleural diseases, and malignant pleural effusion.
Dr Chan received the Assembly Education Award, Respiratory Infection (non-tuberculous) Assembly (2021) from the Asia Pacific Society of Respirology and Professor Wah-kit Lam Young Investigator Award (2018) from the Hong Kong Thoracic Society. Dr Chan acts as a committee member of the special interest groups on interventional pulmonology, airway diseases and the scientific committee of the Hong Kong Thoracic Society. He also serves on the editorial board member of Respirology for the term 2023-2025 (http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/10.1111/(ISSN)1440-1843).
